I had ordered a dozen roses 🌹 to be delivered to my wife’s work, UC Davis hospital on 02/08. Apparently, they (UPS) delivered to a completely wrong address.

Then my daughter convinced me to take her and my son to shake shack to get the T-MOBILE Tuesday free cheeseburger which is 22 miles away. So I took them there and they finished the meal in 16 minutes. We were back on the road but had to deal with bad rush hour traffic. As we got within 5 minutes from the house at approximately 4:47 pm as we ( my 2 kids and I) were driving the 2021 rental car home up Sophia Parkway, I noticed a sudden loss of power without warning. I knew I was in trouble. I immediately made a left on Elmores way and pulled to the right and stopped with emergency lights.

I first call my good good friend and our carpool dad and he came down and dropped off my kids home. From 5 pm – 8:30 pm, I was with the car waiting for the tow truck to arrive. Meanwhile, there were cars passing, slowing down, curious, suspicious. They were absolutely bewildered because cars breaking down in this Uber-rich neighborhood is so so rare. They must’ve thought that I was a contractor or some type of day laborer because there’s a mynute chance that this scene is brought to them by their own beloved legendary inside the gated compound residents. 

So I finally decided to tell Enterprise Rental a Car that I’ve been waiting for for over 2 hours and still no tow. It’s pitch black and cold outside and I want to go home. They said it’s ok, but told me to lock up and take the key. I walked home and called my son. I forgot that he had Volleyball tryouts tonight, so he decided to walk to school (5 miles).

Exhausted, cold, I finally arrive home. I go to the kitchen to wash my hands and then…….

OH HELLLL NO…. ANTS, ants, ants all over the counters. So I take everything off the counters and pour lots lots of cayenne pepper all over because that’s what professor Google told me to do.

At 10:39 pm the tow truck finally shows up and calls me to bring the keys. Enterprise rep told me to take key, lock the car, and go home 

So I take the Mrs car and hand it to him. Tow truck guy wanted to tell me about how horses in 2022 are more reliable than newer cars and how in Mexico they say the cheaper something is, the more you buy…. 😂
